after premiering a snippet of “john carpenter” yesterday, abel lets loose of the title track of his studio LP, as well as a beat switch into “john carpenter” in the 7:40 lead off of kiss land. it’s pretty good.
this is a branch out for both parties, and an unorthodox collaboration to say the least. juicy j puts the bandz off to the side for a more focused and brooding single in “one of those nights.” and sure enough, calling it a feature is just a formality, considering this song is all abel and a little bitta juicy.
what’s impressive about this NSFW (and seriously, there’s plenty of titties) video is that vevo premiered and is continuing to host it. i’m not even mad, though. here’s a video for one of the newer tracks from the weeknd’s trilogy outing, that’s gone gold and headed towards platinum territory.
earlier this week, you saw the weeknd’s performance of “wicked games” on jools, and he’s now let go of the web exclusive of his “high for this” performance.
abel makes his television debut (nothing stateside, quite yet) for a stripped down performance of everyone’s favorite weeknd track. and one that’s been hitting its fair share of radio stations too.
while the weeknd’s trilogy hit stores today, it’s a video for a feature on a wiz khalifa single that we get. and the video (where abel is absent) is definitely catering to the fanbase of the featured artist this time – dark and moody, which is a huge contrast to wiz’s typically lackadaisical musings. good job branchin’ out there, wiz.
it’s night time, so that’s prime real estate for abel t. to drop a video for basically his premiere single. featuring the guy whose blog posts made this all possible (shit, i found out about the weeknd from the ovo blog). great song, cool video, and trilogy is out nov. 13.
the weeknd is getting ready for his retail debut this tuesday, nov. 13th. but for now, listen to a radio premiere of “twenty eight,” one of trilogy’s new holdings. and god damn, he is sounding more and more like MJ by the day.
smiths references not withstanding, abel unleashes one of three new songs from trilogy (jk it’s not from trilogy) to the interwebs for a late night (early morning) treat. this is the song for the ladies…you know…if you have one.
and how many fans of the weeknd even know who morrissey or the smiths are? MAYBE 5%.
this is pretty much everyone’s favorite track from HOB, so it’s no surprise that it gets the music video treatment to follow up “rolling stone.” and as an added information grab, the full tracklisting of trilogy has been announced, leaving one to conclude there’s 3 new songs — “twenty eight,” “valerie” and “til dawn (here comes the sun.)” the latter is a title of a beatles song (partially, anyway) so there’s no telling if it’s a cover. if that’s the case, let’s hope “valerie” is an ode to amy winehouse.
tracklisting below the jump. trilogy drops nov. 13.
the weeknd is dropping trilogy soon, and while there are only three new songs, you can preview 30 seconds of one in this promo for the triple threat retail release.
