new thrice? don’t mind if i do! at a recent show this past saturday in santa ana, thrice premiered a trio of new songs aside from “anthology.” cannot wait to hear the studio recordings, considering the quality of these. major/minor is in stores on september 20th.

dustin kensrue’s rolling solo here, but he performs a new thrice song from major/minor titled “anthology,” and i can’t even begin to think where they’re headed for album #7. this is on some counting crows shit.

hit the sidebar of youtube to watch all the videos from the uploader. the entire solo set from a nike US open of surfing event is ready to be seen.

thrice – yellow belly + US tour dates (2011)

lovely news today, as thrice dropped off the first release from major/minor, their 7th studio LP dropping on september 20th, 2011. also worth noting is that they have a slew of headlining dates, which includes a few texas dates. looking forward to everything.

i’m definitely feelin a beggars vibe, and i’m glad to hear the band progressing from that anchor. see the tour dates after the jump.

video: thrice – identity crisis [live] (2011)

[vodpod id=Video.5699211&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

10th anniversary for identity crisis this past week (i’m old as hell) means thrice played one of the songs from the record in their home state. i gotta say, i’m glad they dont’ play these songs anymore live. as much as they ruled back in 2000-2003, they’re so terrible now.

that being said, i need an illusion of safety tour, or this band will be dead to me.

video: thrice – live at area4 festival [full set] (2010)

full warped-tour length thrice set? sounds good to me. the boys played a festival in alemania and a bunch of weird foreign kids get to see 30 minutes of thrice. setlist is: weight, of dust and nations, earth will shake, messenger, in exile, helter skelter and beggars.

video: thrice – in exile + beggars [live; acoustic] (2010)

if there’s one thing i know in this life, it’s that i can’t get enough of dustin kensrue folkin’ up thrice songs and performing them acoustically. i’m still spinning beggars on the reg, and both cuts featured here are my two favorite songs on the album. “beggars” below the cut.

show recap: thrice + kevin devine (july 6, 2010)

it’s no surprise that i went to see thrice for a whopping 19th time last night. it’s not so much the fact that they’re “pretty much” my favorite band of all time, because that would be hard to narrow down to just one group. but for the longest time, they have been the most consistent and best band to invest time and effort into. i’ve loved part to all of their releases, most of which found their way into my top 20 in their respective release years and i can say with a straight face that they’ve never let me down live. this time, they brought around kevin devine and his god damn band, as well as bad veins and the dig.

thrice – i want you (she’s so heavy) [the beatles cover] + summer tour dates (2010)

a few weeks ago, thrice had to unexpectedly drop off their co-headline tour with manchester orchestra due to a family emergency. according to the band, that grim situation worked out for the better, so things are looking up for the crew. in a few weeks, thrice will embark on their own headlining summer tour that’ll take em across the us with the likes of kevin devine, bad vein and the dig. i haven’t the slightest clue about the latter two, but kevin devine + thrice is a guaranteed good time. not to mention, this will be thrice’s first proper tour.

also, the band is running a contest here, where you can win a bunch of shit. but more importantly the first so and so entries get a free .mp3 of thrice covering the beatles’ “i want you (she’s so heavy).” eventually, the downloads will run out, but i’m here for you.

thrice – daytrotter sessions (2010)

oh my. daytrotter is probably one of my favorite sites (and the most consistent) over the past few years and this would be a great testament as to why. the multi-dimensional approach daytrotter puts onto all of its visiting bands shines on these sessions. three of beggars finest (wait, they’re all good.) are performed alongside a rousing cover of tom wait’s “come on up to the house.”

thrice – shockhound sessions (2009)

any thrice is good thrice to me. get sexy with em’ when they perform five songs off of beggars in a live setting. props to bsidesrus for ripping these and posting em up. grab that here.

setlist: all the world is mad, the weight, in exile, at the last and beggars. get em.
