video: teen werewolves…they’re out there (2010)

[vodpod id=Video.3672582&w=425&h=350&fv=]

via the alt report, of course. where the hell else would i find this? sunbear and i spent several minutes on chat today discussing how awesome this video is. i find this bizarre and entrancing all the same. the worst/best part is that these nerds are in texas, less than 3 hours away from me. if there was any reason to lock my doors at night, this is it. but really, just watch the video for gems like:

1. “it isn’t emo, it isn’t goth. it’s, well – more animal than that. meet members of the wolfpack.”
2. “we’re not a gang at all. gangs are posers. we’re family.”
3. “sometimes they meet under a full moon – that is, if mom and dad let them out of the house.”
4. about the mall: “this is our second home.”
5. mom about her son: “if this is the worst that he does in high school, i’m blessed.”

show recap: alkaline trio + cursive (march 26, 2010)

the last time alkaline trio headlined a set in houston in october of 2008 had completely different circumstances. rise against canceled, so alkaline trio had to step up in typical “the show must go on!” fashion and play a short stint of headline sets. this time around, they’ve had minor major label success, a charting album in this addiction and fellow lushes cursive along for the ride for their own headlining tour. what’s come to be expected by any trio set these days is a fair share of cult classics and new songs, distributed evenly amongst an hour and a half set. having cursive on the tour was a huge bonus for myself, personally.

anyway, read on.
