fresh off the heels of their third (and very, very good) LP’s release, vampire weekend’s live show is being featured at NPR, where a full, hour-long and HD set can be seen in its entirety. the setlist features plenty of tracks from modern vampires, and some neat oldies for good measure.
more bands need to follow vampire weekend suit. when on a promotional run for your brand new album (modern vampires of the city is in stores today), don’t hit 4 late night shows and play the same 1 or 2 songs. after performing “diane young” and “unbelievers” on SNL this past weekend, VW knocks two more tracks into the mainstream.
god damn these vampire weekend boys know how to bring the ruckus with their lo-fi sound, don’t they? the kristin-wig hosted penultimate episode of the season featured a vampire weekend on the cusp of their third album’s release, and they brought along “diane young” and “unbelievers” (below the jump) to showcase for everyone.
vampire weekend’s third LP, the follow up to 2010′s contra, is now here for your guilt-free listening pleasure. and although the album leaked today, the fellas are offering up a full preview in the itunes store. listen below, and pick it up on may 14th.
vampire weekend are only 2 weeks away from the release of their third LP, modern vampires of the city, so it’s a good time to take these new bad boys on the promotional road. up top is their recent performance at jools holland, featuring the new jams “diane young” and “unbelievers.”
“before” braces photo and sometimes actor steve buscemi is sitting pretty in the director’s chair for vampire weekend’s upcmoing amex unstaged performance at the roseland ballroom on 4/28. watch the zero-chemistry trailer featuring the two parties above.
praise all things prep school and vampires because ezra and the gang have two great new songs for all of us this afternoon. listen to “diane young” above and watch the lyric video for the b-side “step” below the jump.
scratch the whole lemon sounds thing. the band’s new album will be called modern vampires of the city and will drop the album on may 7th, as previously announced. the tracklisting can be seen below as well. kinda irked at the font choice for the album title here, but my guess is that it’ll be a sticker on the album, and hopefully won’t ruin that neat cover.
tour dates below the jump as well.
1. Obvious Bicycle
4. Diane Young
5. Don’t Lie
6. Hannah Hunt
7. Everlasting Arms
8. Finger Back
9. Worship You
10. Ya Hey
12. Young Lion
a day after announcing the release date for their third LP, vampire weekend announces the title and a tracklisting for the album. while “unbelievers” (a song they’ve been performing for a while now) will make the album’s tracklist, the other new one (“arms,” which you can listen to below the jump) didn’t — unless “arms” is the wrong title.
lemon sounds is out may 7th.
update we’ve been had. xl, the label vampire weekend will release lp3 on, is reporting that the album art, tracklist, etc. are all fake. turns out it was a project by a fuckin’ art student. back to your caves, now.
the boat shoed boys of vampire weekend have annonced, via their website, that the follow-up to 2010′s contra is complete and and set for a may 6th release. no word as to the title of the lp, but there is a little “MVOTC” icon in the bottom corner of the splash page that may clue us in.
