So at this point, this is the third (heh) Thrice interview to date for weworemasks, and it was just as fun as the first two times. I’ve never been shy about how much I like this band, so it was cool to get the chance to sit down with the bassist, Eddie Breckenridge, to talk all things tour, Major/Minor and what album he’d be interested in playing in full for an anniversary if the opportunity came up.

And I know it’s a bit dated, but the tour’s just starting and I got around to transcribing the interview today. Hit the jump and pass it along!

weworemasks presents: the gaslight anthem – acoustics (2011)

there’s always that one band who records acoustic renditions of their songs, but never puts together a proper album or collection of said songs. the gaslight anthem, particularly brian fallon, has never been one to shy away from the acoustic guitar and the somber voice approach to the gaslight anthem’s four-release discography. thankfully, i was there to pick up the pieces along the way and hoard these 17 acoustic songs over the years. last night, i got a little inspired to create some solid artwork (let’s face it, that shit looks awesome) and put together a neat mixtape/comp for all you gaslight fans out there. oh and for the record, the script font on the cover is called “jersey stories!” it couldn’t be more perfect if i tried. tracklisting below the jump. share with all your friends, start a campfire, bust out the whiskey and have a grand old time.

edit: i took note of the tweet from brian/TGA’s camp. on one hand, i want to respect the band’s wishes. on the other, i’ve supported this band by buying tickets to their shows, copies of their albums and merch. this compilation is strictly for shits, giggles and bootleg collections. i’m not making any money off of it. i’ll take it down if the label contacts us directly, but until then, enjoy the post.

so it’s the start of another week and probably a monday like the others. after a near perfect weekend, wanting a certain feeling to last, you get sucked back into the work/school week. i’ve never been one to ‘live for the weekend’, but after experiencing such a feeling recently, i decided to throw together a little something to soundtrack that vibe (in lieu of a march mixtape). naturally grizzly thought this was something that should be posted, hence the time. the download is below, tracklisting/back cover under the cut. enjoy ya’ll.

that time of the year again, folks. sadly, our bb panda will not be joining us, as he is an old man who is busy moving into a new place and tending to things such as being a grown up, working, and other boring shit of that nature. fear not, we will definitely visit him as soon as possible to make up for all the drinking and hugging he missed out on.

weworemasks presents: sunbear’s year end lists (2010)

Happy 2011, weworemasks readership! As the last of the staff to submit his list, and after much debate, I’ve whittled down the lists to a simple Top 30 Albums of 2010. No mixtapes or concerts for me. That stuff is buried away in the annals of weworemasks for future generations to ridicule. Simply, these are my favorite albums, regardless of hype, talent, or entitlement. Some are obvious shoe-ins, and others were sneak attacks. Kind of like the difference between Sgt. Slaughter and Snake Eyes in the 2nd season opener of G.I. Joe: Arise, Serpentor, Arise!

While my personal lists are all but posted, we won’t be posting them until I get back from visiting my fam starting tomorrow through the 26th.
