if you’re twitter feed blew up anything like mine last night, you’re well aware that daft punk, who have been 3 years in concert hiding since their alive 2007 tour joined their french frères phoenix onstage. up above, check them getting “close encounters” with “1901,” and hit the jump for phoenix’s “if i ever feel better” coupled with daft punk’s “harder better faster stronger/around the world.” to have been there…
phoenix isn’t quite done milking 2009′s wolfgang amadeus phoenix quite yet (no complaints here), as they are releasing a nine part documentary, that’s one per song, of the making of the breakout album. here’s your first behind the scenes bit of opener “lisztomania.”
wolfgang amadeus phoenix is out, and practically ancient by this time.
seems like only yesterday we were indulging in the bouncy sounds of wolfgang amadeus phoenix. some still are. and some are retooling the newly released multitracks of wolfgang amadeus phoenix to create their own monster. here’s the band as they performed “lasso” and “1901″ (surprise) on jimmy kimmel last night. man, phoenix have the best drummers in the industry.
the masters of guerilla acousticshows, phoenix, have landed themselves in the offices of npr to perform for the pen pushers and whispery voices of the radio station. 4 tracks from wolfgang amadeus phoenix are played and smiles abound. and their french accents are so charming!
you didn’t think all those phoenix remixes would amount to naught, did you? set for a 10/13 release date, wolfgang amadeus phoenix (remix collection) is exactly that – a collection of the songs from the band’s 2009 release redone by the likes of yacht, passion pit, chairlift and the very trippy animal collective.
check out ac’s remix of love is like a sunset below. and catch the full tracklisting after the jump.
can’t stop, won’t stop. a big contender for single of the year, phoenix invade the ed sullivan to perform ’1901 from wolfgang amadeus phoenix. the band are definitely more lively then from their previous us tv performance on snl. i don’t know why singer thomas mars’ wrist is taped up but i do know that someone needs to get that guy a different shirt (see: this, this and this).
